Rockford Police officers responded to the 800 block of Ferguson Street for reports of shots fired at approximately 12:15 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025. When officers arrived, they located a 42-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both were transported to local hospitals for their serious injuries.
According to a release, Rockford Police Violent Crime Detectives investigated and identified three suspects involved with the shooting: Hector and Judy Aguayo, along with Jenali Alvarado.
On November 12, Jenali Alvarado was taken into custody and is being held in the Winnebago County Jail. Judy Aguayo was also taken into custody yesterday in Chicago. The two face numerous felony charges in connection with the incident.
At large is Hector Aguayo. He faces attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and mob action.
The charges are merely accusations, and all individuals are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
