PEORIA (25News Now) – Charges have been filed against a second suspect in a home invasion that left a teenager dead and a 21-year-old man injured at the Lexington Hills Apartments in Central Peoria, the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s office announced on Monday.
During a Monday hearing, the suspect, 23-year-old Reginald Flemister-Tolson, was charged with home invasion and aggravated battery with a firearm. He was also ordered detained until his trial, prosecutors said in a release.
The latest update happened less than a week after police arrested a 17-year-old suspect. It also followed the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office releasing evidence that implicated Matthew Day, the Manual High School student killed in the incident, as another suspect in the Nov. 22 home invasion.
Just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Peoria police were called to the shooting at the 3400 block of West Oakcrest Drive, near North Molleck Drive. Officers said they found Day unresponsive in an apartment after he was shot twice in the torso.
