Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim officially announced her campaign for Illinois Comptroller. Suzana Mendoza has decided to not seek another term and is rumored to be gearing up to run for Chicago Mayor.

Kim has served two terms as Lake County Treasurer. She has a distinguished record in the office. She negotiated higher interest rates for collector accounts, generating an additional $3 million for local taxing bodies. She worked with state legislators to reduce mobile home tax penalties, because she believes the government should not punish people for being poor.

As Illinois State Comptroller, Holly vows to continue the important work of fiscal oversight and transparency and says she will enforce prevailing wage laws, modernize financial systems, and ensure that every dollar is tracked with integrity.

Between her strong work ethic and proven track record of innovation, Kim is a strong candidate for the office.
