Orem Utah – At a rally today, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University. Kirk began TPUSA in 2011 and became known for hosting open debates on university campuses throughout America.
About 30 minutes into today’s “Prove Me Wrong” event held outdoors, a single shot was fired that struck Kirk in the neck. Witnesses describe the shot as coming from a rooftop. The round hit Kirk in the neck, causing massive injury. Responders on the scene immediately gave living saving measures but Kirk was pronounced deceased shortly after the shooting.
Two people have been taken into custody and no arrests have been announced at this time.
Kirk, 31, is survived by his wife and two children.
