Today and in cooperation with Progressives for Change, the DuPage County Democratic Party held a Labor Day rally in support of working people and in opposition to the policies of President Donald Trump.
Held in Elmhurst, the event drew thousands of participants. It featured a series of speakers before and after the march.
Trump’s policies have been clearly against the interests of working people. The spending bill that he advanced and was passed in July, favors the wealthy with big tax breaks, strips health care from 17 million people and balloons the deficit by roughly 3 trillion dollars.
His arbitrary tariff “program” has exacerbated inflation and prices are expected to rise steadily through the remainder of this and into next.
Working families have had enough and the rally today said exactly that.
