Beginning on Sunday, about 300 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents patrolled the River North area of downtown Chicago in a show of force. The personnel were divided into patrols of 30 to 50 agents and were well geared for the mission.
Commander-at-large Gregory Bovino said the goal of the increased presence is to arrest violent illegals such as members of the Tren De Aragua gang.
During the movement on Sunday, several Latino families could be seen being taken into custody.
The patrols and increased presence is due to continue in Chicago. Bovino added, “we’re here as long as necessary.”
