Authorities have announced that Tyler Robinson of Washington Utah is in custody and suspected of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk. Robinson was placed into custody last evening at approximately 11pm.
The FBI released security camera photos and videos of the suspected shooter. The assets showed the suspected shooter dressed in black and carrying a back pack. The shooter is seen climbing stairs in the still images and fleeing across a roof, jumping down and then running to adjacent woods after the shooting in the video. A high powered rifle believed to have been used in the assassination was found in the woods according to reporting.
Robinson’s father identified the person in the images as his 22 year old son Tyler and told him to turn himself in. A family friend who is a pastor and member of the U.S. Marshals Service was contacted. He conveyed the information to the FBI and the younger Robinson was taken into custody.
This is an ongoing investigation and specific charges have not been announced at this time.
