EL PASO, Ill – Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman declared his candidacy for Illinois State Representative in the 105th District.
Ruestman is seeking the Republican nomination. Current Representative Dennis Tipsword announced he will not seek re-election.
Reustman has served as Woodford County Coroner for over three decades, which he believes has given him a solid foundation with which to head to Springfield.
I have dedicated much of my life to serving the people of Woodford County, and I’m ready to take that experience and commitment to Springfield,” said Ruestman. “With Representative Dennis Tipsword not seeking reelection, I believe our district needs a steady, local voice in Springfield—someone who understands the needs of our rural communities, supports law enforcement, and defends conservative values.”
Reustman’s platform includes supporting small business, protecting farmland, fiscal discipline and public safety. His campaign website does not include in the platform section information regarding the stripping of health care from working people. States can play a role in countering the recently passed federal legislation that takes health care from 17 million people.
The 105th District includes parts of Woodford, McLean, Livingston, Tazewell, Marshall, Putnam, LaSalle and Bureau counties.
